Bull Scanning Information

For the past 3 years DIP have employed Ben Glatz to scan DI Field Day bulls, once in November (28:11:11) and again just before the Field Day (27:1:12).
While not discounting the indicative usefulness of EBV genetic measurement, DIP gives clear preference to actual performance data.
The reason for the second scan is to give prospective buyers accurate and up-to-date information because bulls can change so much during that interval. This is especially relevant to the younger "Spring Herd" bulls which are still going through their "adolescent" growth stage at the earlier scanning and alter considerably by the second scanning.
It is to be noted that the same "adolescent" growth trends are evident in dry or tough seasons as well as in times of plenty.
